Today's Conservative Talking Points

Just in case you haven’t been tuned into your radio (I hadn’t), here are your conservative talking points for today:

  • Al Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize even though he is a liar.

  • The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to people for their (supposed) work on the environment. Not peace. How is that a peace prize?

  • Al Gore’s “Inconvient Truth” is devoid of truth. Feel free to improvise a pun.

  • Yassir Arafat was also awarded a Nobel Peace Prize, and that hasn’t worked out so well. So obviously it’s not really a very prestigious award.

Let’s get out there and send this to everyone in the MSM and post it on every comment section in the blogosphere!

I heard it first thing this morning since NPR-Junkie wakes up to the news. At first I honestly was confused as to what global warming has to do with peace. Turns out, a whole lot. Global warming leads to problems with crops and water and land, therefore struggles that lead to wars. Makes sense to me. I’m really tired of politics. Why do we have to tear each other apart all the time? Some of my best friends are on the other side, but it helps remind me that we have a lot in common. Random comment.

Yeah, I find it somewhat tedious as well. I’m going to eventually write a post on this. This was actually a reaction to comments on CNN. There were insightful posts (both conservative and liberal), and then about 100 posts that all had various paraphrases of the above. I think the water issues are going to be very interesting. Austin has a lot of water, but San Antonio has a lot less and has been building heavily over their water source. Just those two cities I could see creating a lot of conflict. Leaving out what happens if the gulf coast floods… Not to mention what the immigration problem would be if Mexico became completely desert. I really don’t care about global warming at this point. It’s obvious to me that our current way of life is unsustainable. I’m hoping we can find ways to stay close to how we are, but at the rate we’re going if we don’t run out of resources first, we’ll run out of place to put our trash.
